zro-001 CAPTAIN Z-RO: Volume 1
Vol 01 Somewhere, in the remote, uncharted regions of the earth, stands the laboratory of Captain Z-ro.

In this secret location, known only to a few in the outside world, Captain Z-ro and his associates experiment in Time and Space.

The laboratory, auxiliary buildings, air strip and rocket platform are occupied primarily by Captain Z-ro, Jet, his teen-age assistant and by Micro, Tetro, Arcro and others.

Captain Z-ro has developed a Time Machine (based on projections of factual theories, as are all of his developments) consisting of many components, including a Time Screen, Materialization Chamber, Language Rectifier and a sound wave segregator. These items are developed in the series as are the Microfile, Sonic Disintegrator, Brain Wave Analyzer, Gravity Levitator and many others.

Captain Z-ro not only explores space and becomes involved with adventures on other planets, but is able to travel back and forth in time.

This is the outline of the TV series that was created by Roy Steffensen in 1955. If you have never watched a Captain Z-ro program, you are in for quite a treat. The program was way ahead of it's time. Time travel, language translators, and materialization chambers are a part of almost every science fiction program and movie that are produced today. But, these inventions were all part of a program that had it's start in the early 1950's.

This is volume one and it contains two of the Captain Z-ro programs. Roy Steffensen has personally selected the order that the shows are being released. Many of these shows have not been seen since the program went out of syndication in the 1960's.

The original 16mm prints were taken out of storage in the production of this DVD. They were digitally transferred in order to maintain the highest quality.

On this volume we start with the program entitled CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS. Captain Z-ro employs a new use for the time machine to assist Jet in his efforts to avoid a mutiny on the Santa Maria.

The second program is called THE GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA. Roger the robot returns to the period of the great pyramids to prevent thieves from looting the tomb of Tut Ankh Amen.

Following this episode is a short slide show that includes a page from the actual script of one of the programs.
